There is a direct correlation between the length of time unemployed and a decrease in productivity.
You begin by being quite fired up - you're not going to waste this time you're off, you're going to move and shake and get things done.
And then, before you know it, your boyfriend is coming in from work, asking how your day has gone and the only thing you can tell him is that there was a really good episode of Judge Judy on today.
Hang in there!
ReplyDeleteWhen I was unemployed for 6 months, and then for another 3 a year later I forced myself into a routine. It was hard at first, but eventually the routine became my job.
Noooo! Deadliest Catch is much better.
ReplyDeleteJudge Judy is ace. That is all!
ReplyDeleteThis may be stuff you are already doing so shoot me if it is the case. When I was unemployed I'd treat it like a full time job. I'd get up ready to begin at 9am. From 9am -12noon I'd job hunt and apply for at least something each day. I'd explore every pore of the Internet and apply for even far fetched shit at times.
ReplyDeleteThen I'd have lunch. Then the afternoon was free time for me. I'd read, write my blog, do a painting or two...definitely, definitely take a walk and then evening it would be family/friend time. A little bit of structure to the day helps...I don't know - I'm sure you're doing this? Just thought I'd say if it was any use...Hope you find something soon xxx PS Also look into volunteer work maybe?
You've just explained 2 weeks of my life in 2 small paragraphs.
